Alimentaria and Hostelco mark a turning point in the recovery of the sector


More than 3,000 exhibiting companies from 52 countries have participated in the call that ends today to encourage business, internationalization and the reactivation of strategic sectors for the Spanish economy. Nearly 100,000 visitors, including 23% international, from 149 countries, as well as an estimated economic impact of 180 million eurostestify to the strength of this edition which occupied 85,000m2 of net exhibition area, almost the entire site of the Fira de Barcelona Gran Vía.

In this way, Alimentaria&Hostelco has once again consolidated its position as a strategic global event for the internationalization of its participating companies. Of more than 3,000 exhibiting companies, 400 were international, from 52 countries. Brazil, Slovakia, Australia, Canada, United Arab Emirates and Porto Rico participated in the event for the first time.

The exhibition platform has revalidated its leadership by promoting the complementarity of its sectors represented and by offering a great business platform to its professionals. Among the participants were 1,400 major buyers invited from strategic markets for the export of food and catering equipment, such as the European Union, the UNITED STATES and Latin Americawho took part in some 13,000 meetings with companies.

Sustainable and healthy food innovation, gastronomy, management linked to sustainability, healthy products and the rise of vegetable proteins, as well as the latest trends in the hospitality industry, were the stars of the program of activities of the two fairs, where more than 300 innovations were presented, 30 great chefs with 36 Michelin stars participated and it was possible to visit the recreation of a hotel equipped with the latest technologies.

The next edition of the exhibition platform organized by Barcelona Fair will be held in March 2024 on the Gran Via site.
