Barcelona fed up with Ousmane Dembele, planning next season without him

After a long saga, Barcelona and Ousmane Dembele could be heading towards parting ways in the summer transfer window.

The 25-year-old is in the final weeks of his contract, which expires on June 30 and has shown little indication he will sign an extension.

Barcelona had completely ended negotiations with the Frenchman’s camp at the start of the year after rejecting the submitted contract proposal. But the talks reopened at the end of March after the winger started to prove his worth and started performing well under Xavi Hernandez.

The manager himself intended to keep Dembele, forcing Barca to resume talks with Dembele’s agent Moussa Sissoko. But despite multiple meetings held in Morocco and Barcelona, little progress has been made.

And, according to Mundo Deportivothe Blaugrana are fed up with the former Borussia Dortmund winger and are now resigned to losing him for nothing at the end of the month.

The report states that Barca have lost patience with Dembele who is yet to respond to the club’s latest contract offer. And with media speculation linking him with a move to Chelsea gaining weight, the Blaugrana suspects that the winger has decided not to continue in Catalonia.

It is further claimed that Barcelona are unwilling to increase their current offer which is pretty much a ‘take it or leave it’ deal for Dembele. And the Catalans have decided not to hold any meetings with the striker’s camp in the coming weeks.

Although the club haven’t set a deadline for the France international to meet their offer, they won’t wait any longer and are starting plans for next season without considering 25-year-old Dembele.

In addition, replacements are also being identified for the former Rennes wonderkid, with Leeds United’s Raphinha and former Real Madrid superstar Angel Di Maria linked.
