In an interview with the Spanish media Mundo Deportivo, which was translated and relayed by Barca Center, Eric Garcia has opened up about his departure from Manchester City and his thoughts on his time at the club.

In the interview, Garcia states that at age 17, “With my family and my agent we decided the best thing was to go to Manchester“, and despite returning to Catalonia after four years at Manchester City, Garcia notes,”It was a good decision”To spend time with the Premier League club.

Garcia also noted that he had developed significantly under Pep Guardiola’s tutelage, stating that Pep “taught me a lot, especially positionally, tactically, trying to read what’s going to happen before it happens”.

Eric Garcia established himself as a regular at the first team towards the end of the 2019/20 campaign, but the young Catalan aspired to return to Barcelona and said he decided not to renew his contract at City because he “knew there was interest from Barca and made it clear that I didn’t want to renew because I wanted to come back”.
