“Is this Star Trek enough?” : Space Force ridiculed over new uniforms | Colorado Springs News
The new Space Force uniforms are among the weirdest outfits under the sun, according to some Twitter users.
The most recent U.S. service branch unveiled its Warden’s service robe, a prototype uniform for members of the Space Force, at the annual Space Force Cyber airspace Tuesday conference. Social media users weren’t impressed with the designs, comparing them to the uniforms worn in sci-fi films such as Star Trek and Battlestar Galactica.

Others thought that the money spent on the new uniforms, and the Space Force in general, could have been better spent. Representative Mark Pocan called the uniforms “a big ugly reminder that we chose to create a space force in this country before choosing to invest in things like ending poverty or ending homelessness,” as other users have suggested how to reallocate funding.

The introduction of the new Space Force uniforms comes as billionaires Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk have launched their own crews into space.
The missions of billionaires have also been criticized. On Tuesday, United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres called private space flights indicators of global wealth inequality, saying: “Billionaires travel to space as millions go hungry on Earth “.
