Mayor Hardie Davis, Jr. to speak at Smart City Expo Doha

AUGUSTA (WJBF) – Mayor Hardie Davis, Jr. of Augusta, GA will speak at Smart City Expo Doha in Qatar March 29-30, 2022.

Davis will speak at the opening ceremony alongside Fira de Barcelona International CEO Ricard Zapatero and Msheireb Properties CEO Nasser Matar Al Kawari.

Miami Mayor and United States Conference of Mayors President Francis X. Suarez will deliver remarks via video message.

Davis will also participate in a discussion on smart solutions for urban sustainability, energy, water, transportation and the transition to a greener built environment.

Davis is President of Smart City Expo USA, Executive Committee Member of the United States Conference of Mayors and Co-Chair of the Technology and Innovation Task Force, and Founding Member and Past President of the Association of African-American Mayors. Americans.

Smart City Expo Doha is organized by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology of the Government of Qatar with the support of its innovation lab, TASMU, and hosted by Msheireb Downtown Doha and Fira de Barcelona International.

The two-day program is themed “Supporting a Resilient Future” and features 70 speakers on five topics: Sustainable Cities, Global Economy and Digital Readiness, Sporting Events and Connected Society, City as platform and the redesign of digital public services.

Other speakers from the United States include Jeff Merritt, head of urban transformation at the World Economic Forum; Jeremy Goldberg, global director of public sector critical infrastructure at Microsoft, and Peter Hirshberg, director of economic development at GlobalSF and CEO of Makercity.com.
