Onera launches an innovative sleep diagnostic solution in Europe
EINDHOVEN, Netherlands–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Onera Health, a leader in the transformation of sleep medicine and telemonitoring, today announces the official launch of its revolutionary solution for diagnosing sleep disorders in Europe. The service is based on the CE-marked and FDA-approved Onera sleep testing system and the Onera digital health platform. It allows sleep professionals to conduct sleep studies in the comfort of patients’ homes while maintaining clinical-grade quality such as laboratory diagnostics.
Ruben de Francisco, Managing Director of Onera Santé and one of the founders, explains: “For many years, comprehensive sleep diagnostics were primarily possible in resource-intensive hospital labs, leading to long wait times and often a poor patient experience. Our innovative solution enables large-scale use of home polysomnography. This will not only greatly increase patient comfort during a sleep study, but will also improve access and shorten diagnostic pathways for patients with sleep disorders..”
“Sleep medicine has struggled to keep up with the growing prevalence of sleep disorders for too long. Onera’s Polysomnography-as-a-Service solution puts an end to diagnostic delays, while ensuring a high level of signal quality unmatched in home sleep tests. This is especially important for patients with advanced or complicated sleep disordersadds Hartmut Schneider, MD, PhD, chief medical officer and co-founder of ONERA.
Onera’s polysomnography-as-a-service solution will be offered in the Netherlands and Germany from 2022, and new countries in Europe will be added in the coming months.
The company will present new data from ongoing clinical validation studies around the Onera STS (Sleep Test System) at the ERS 2022 International Congress and will exhibit its revolutionary solution at booth #J02A, at the Fira Gran Via Convention Center Barcelona. The ERS International Congress is one of the largest medical conferences, bringing together a global audience of clinicians, scientists and researchers in the field of respiratory and sleep medicine.
