PJ police arrest nine loan sharks for harassing woman

PETALING JAYA: Nine loan sharks have been arrested for harassing a 57-year-old woman.
The victim, who runs a business, had borrowed 10,000 RM at 11 ah long in mid-2019 after seeing the loan ad online.
Petaling Jaya OCPD Comm. Deputy Nik Ezanee Mohd Faisal (Photo) said the victim could only repay the loan until December of last year due to financial problems.
“She was then harassed and threatened by several long ah.
“According to the victim, over RM 100,000 were paid, but the ah continued to harass her and her family members for a long time almost daily,” he said when contacted on Thursday (8 October ).
Nine Ah Long – eight local men and one foreign woman – were arrested en masse across the district, he added.
“The suspects, aged 25 to 48, have been remanded in custody.
“I hope the public will not be fooled into taking out loans for a long time,” said ACP Nik Ezanee.
