A report has revealed which Liverpool player Lionel Messi wants at Barcelona if he is to extend his trophy-laden career with the Catalan giants.
Barca legend Messi left the club on a free transfer last summer, having established himself as one of the all-time greats during his time at Camp Nou.
The LaLiga side’s perilous financial situation has made it impossible to renew Messi’s contract, with the Argentine heading to PSG instead.
Messi, however, made serious attempts to stay at the club. He even reduced a large part of his salary, to avoid having to leave.
And now ESPN jorge ramos revealed that the 34-year-old had other demands for him to stay.
One of them was for Barca to sign the striker from Liverpool Sadio Mane. Messi wanted the team to be significantly strengthened, and Mane was part of that upgrade.
The report adds that Messi values the Senegalese star very highly and initial talks have taken place. However, talks were smooth and sweet as Anfield chiefs had no intention of selling.
