Seafood Expo Global moves to spring 2022 – Fish Farmer Magazine
SEAFOOD Expo Global and Seafood Processing Global, the world’s largest trade fair, has moved to next spring.
It was scheduled for late April of this year, but due to the Covid pandemic it was decided to stage it five months later – early September.
Now the organizers, Diversified Communications, have said, after some thought, that they will hold it next year when, hopefully, the Covid situation is expected to improve a lot. The new dates are April 26-28, 2022 and the venue is Fira Barcelona Gran Via.
Liz Plizga, Group Vice President at Diversified Communications, said: âKeeping the best interests of our clients in mind is our top priority.
âAfter an assessment of concerns from suppliers and buyers about the lingering uncertainties caused by the current COVID-19 situation around the world, it became clear that 2021 would still be too early to host an international event that would provide the global experience to the seafood community would find it valuable.
She added: âWe are committed to Barcelona. We will continue to work with Fira de Barcelona and the city to ensure that we can organize a high-value in-person event that will bring back, to the Gran Via site in 2022, the international representation that makes Seafood Expo Global / Seafood Processing Global the world’s seafood market and the world’s largest seafood trade event. “
Events director Wynter Courmont said the organizers were already attracting great interest from all sectors of the global industry.
