Smart City Expo Doha 2022 will address key challenges facing cities of the future


Organized by the government of from Qatar Ministry of Communications and Information Technology; with the support of its innovation lab, TASMU, hosted by Msheireb Downtown Doha, and acquired by Fira de Barcelona, ​​​​Smart City Expo Doha will offer a comprehensive program of conferences around five themes: sustainable cities, global economy and digital readiness, sporting events and the connected society, the city as a platform and the redesign of digital public services.

More than 70 speakers, international and local, are expected to share ideas and solutions on how to create a better and more sustainable future for cities and the people who live there. In particular, speeches will be delivered by Peter Hirschberg and Jonas Kjellberg.

Hirshberg is an expert innovation advisor to cities and businesses, CEO of, Venture Partner at the Catalyst Opportunity Zone Impact Fund, and Founding President of the Maker City Urban Innovation Center. Kjellberg is co-author of Standing Equipment books used in from Stanford University Executive MBA program and President of Nornorm, a company that promotes a circular consumption model.

In addition to the conference, the event will also have an exhibition space with more than 50 participating companies, representing 20 different countries. These include technology companies such as Ooredoo, Huawei, Microsoft, QNB, Vodafone or Meeza that will offer visitors the most cutting-edge solutions for urban innovation.

Smart City Expo Doha is part of the internationalization strategy of the Smart City Expo World Congress, the main international summit on smart cities and urban solutions organized by Barcelona Fairwhich will hold its 12th edition from 15 to November 17, 2022 in Barcelona, ​​Spain.
