Smart City Expo World Congress 2021 brings together the urban innovation industry again
Barcelona, Spain, 25 October 2021 / PRNewswire / – Smart City Expo World Congress (SCEWC), the leading international summit on smart cities and urban solutions hosted by Barcelona Fira, will once again bring together the urban innovation industry in person to celebrate the 10e anniversary of the event. Of November 16 to 18, with more than 400 exhibitors and 300 speakers, and under the theme We are the cities we build, the event will reflect on the transformation of metropolises after the pandemic and on the need to respond even more than before to the needs of its citizens.
The event will bring together leading international experts and companies to share their knowledge and address the many challenges related to urban transformation. To cover the many areas concerned, the congress program will be structured around eight themes, enabling technologies, energy and environment, mobility, governance, life and inclusion, economy, infrastructure and buildings, and safety and security.
Urban solutions are an essential part of the smart city ecosystem, and the 400 exhibiting companies will showcase their latest products and technologies. These companies include Abertis Mobility Solutions, Cisco, City Possible by Mastercard, FCC Environment, Huawei, Microsoft, Motorola, Seat, Smart Ports: Piers of the Future and Ubiwhere. The UCLG World Council
The SCEWC will also provide space for the World Council of the Organization of United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG), the annual meeting of the world’s largest network of cities and local, regional and metropolitan governments. UCLG will meet Barcelona, under the title “Smart cities and territories, pillars of the common agenda” to define the strategy of the municipal movement and its contribution to the common UN agenda.
The future of mobility and materials
The SCEWC will strengthen its role as a knowledge-sharing platform by organizing two new events: Tomorrow.Mobility and PUZZLE X. Tomorrow.Mobility is co-organized by EIT Urban Mobility and will focus on promoting the design and the adoption of a new sustainable urban mobility. models, while PUZZLE X, organized jointly with the Advanced Material Future Preparedness Taskforce and Mobile World Capital Barcelona, aims to seize the potential of Frontier materials to solve some of the challenges facing society.
