The Blues prepare an offer for Sergino Dest as Malang Sarr is targeted

Chelsea transfer news: Sergino Dest has struggled to settle in Barcelona since leaving Ajax in 2020. The USA international has made 42 league appearances for the club so far, scoring two goals in the process.
He has seen himself slipping down the hierarchy since the arrival of manager Xavi in November. The former Ajax defender has not started in a league game since Blaugrana’s 1-0 loss to Real Betis in early December. The Catalan club are said to be looking to cash this transfer window for Dest.
Chelsea Transfer news: Sergino Dest linked with Stamford Bridge move
According to reports, Barcelona have informed clubs of their requests to sell Sergino Dest this transfer window. Blaugrana want a transfer fee of around £ 50million for the US international.
Blues owner Roman Abrahimovich is reportedly willing to pay only half of those fees. However, both clubs are ready to compromise. But the Blues must act faster than Bayern Munich have also shown interest in signing Dest in recent weeks.
The London-based club are currently in the transfer market for a new winger, having lost Ben Chilwell and Reece James to injuries in recent weeks. Chilwell will be out for the remainder of the season, while James is expected to sit on the sidelines for the next 6-8 weeks.
Besides Dest, Lucas Digne of Everton and Theo Hernandez of AC Milan are other winger who have linked with a move to Stamford Bridge in recent weeks.
West Ham United want to sign Malang Sarr
According to reports, West Ham United are among five ‘top’ clubs that have expressed interest in signing Chelsea defender Malang Sarr. Watford, AC Milan, Strasbourg and Turin are other clubs keeping an eye on Sarr’s situation at Stamford Bridge. However, it is still unclear whether any of the interested clubs are willing to sign the French defender on loan or on a permanent contract.
The 22-year-old joined the Blues for free in 2020 but was loaned to FC Porto for the 2020-21 season. He made 8 Primeira Liga appearances for Porto before returning to Stamford Bridge at the start of the season.
Sarr has struggled for his playing time under Thomas Tuchel this season, having only played one Premier League game so far. He is currently behind Antonio Rudiger, Thiago Silva, Andreas Christensen and Trevoh Chalobah in the pecking order at Stamford Bridge.
