The eastern Mediterranean attracts diving enthusiasts
The coastal part of the eastern province of the Arsuz district in Hatay has become a frequent destination for diving enthusiasts thanks to its various species, bottom structure and underwater formations.
The city, which is home to beautiful beaches, is distinguished by its adapted climatic conditions, the possibility of diving 12 months a year, and the spots where divers of all levels can indulge in activities.
Those who dive on the beaches, which are home to natural reefs and various underwater creatures, have the opportunity to experience many different living species.
Speaking to state agency Anadolu, Adana Underwater and Nature Sports Club (ASDEM) chairman İhsan Öd said Hatay beaches are a center of attraction for diving enthusiasts.
Stating that the area is home to different sea creatures that come every season, Öd said: “We observed that the habitat started to change completely as the seas warmed. We have seen many different creatures, some of which are the ones we first saw.
Speaking about the region, Öd said: “Living things are a bit denser in this region. I can tell they can use this place as a home. It is a lively neighborhood; we recommend it to divers. For underwater life, the area is not as cold as other areas, so the habitat is not constantly sheltered. Living things enter the Gulf, and after a while they leave the Gulf and head for our other seas. We have the opportunity to see every living creature for the first time before other divers diving into the seas can see.
Erkan Say, who came to the area to receive diving training in Adana, said he was diving for the first time.
“I saw colorful phosphoric fish. The rocks in the sea were beautifully aligned. I had the opportunity to see the beauties as a documentary film, ”Say said.
Özgün Köse, another diver from the area, said he observed many living species underwater, adding: “Many different fish species come and go from the sea. Underwater is more beautiful than above . It really is a must. We are very excited when we see a different fish.
