The Saló Nàutic de Barcelona hosts the VIII edition of the Paddle Race – CVBJ

The Saló Nàutic de Barcelona organized by the Fira de Barcelona in collaboration with the National Association of Nautical Companies (ANEN) welcomes this Sunday the VIII edition of the Barcelona Paddle Race, the most important open sea kayaking test in Catalonia. The competition will start at Saló and arrive in Badalona.

In addition to this test, visitors who come to the site located on the Fusta and Spain docks will be able to enjoy a wide variety of activities related to the marine environment and its centuries-old tradition.

So the Catalan Federation of Culture and Maritime and Fluvial Heritage has made seven traditional sailboats available to the Saló for the enjoyment of visitors who wish, while the Oceànica Navigation Foundation (FNOB) He participates with four competition vessels, including an 18-meter IMOCA Escuela, with which he wishes to contribute to the dissemination of transoceanic sailing.

The Saló Nàutic de Barcelona has in this edition with the help of Albaola, a factory for creating boats using the classical method, a living museum and a business school in Pasaia (Guipuzcoa), which features a replica whaler from the San Juan, one of the first transoceanic cargo ships that sailed from the Basque Country to Newfoundland in the 16th century.

A exhibition on Juan Sebastián Elcano and various practical workshops for making hemp fiber ropes with traditional wooden machines complete the offer of traditional boating. A wide offer that will be enhanced by conferences and performances by musical groups.
