The bridge between Halloween and Thanksgiving, otherwise known as the month of November, always looks like one of those ramps in Mario Kart. Suddenly you change gears, but the new obstacle coming in faster than you think is right. In real life, however, you don’t get any points for speeding. You’ll get a ticket sooner … or whiplash.

If your November has gone by at warped speed, chances are you are unaware of the ever-changing life cycle of the local food and drink industry. We are here to help you.

With a rapidly growing city like San Antonio, some of the major developments naturally involve the opening of new establishments in the city. This includes the permanent residence of Italian sandwich truck Gigi’s Deli in Little Death and Tomatillo’s official move to the Northside.

The announcement of a new concept for a retro arcade bar, located in the city’s downtown core, also hit MySA digital newsstands this month. Be Kind and Rewind, which takes over a former Fuddruckers, is slated to open in Spring 2022. The Pearl is also acquiring a new high-end foray into Mediterranean cuisine called Ladino.

For now, opt for a seasonal cocktail at the new Chicken N Pickle après-ski-inspired pop-up bar.

First check out Snowbound, the pop-up vacation-themed bar inside Chicken N Pickle.
